About Me

 Hi, I’m Amanda and I’m a writer.

It took me years to decide that I had earned that title, and lately I’m still struggling with the reality of it. But, I write, and I have written since I learned how, and I’ve always loved stories, so … I’m a writer.

That’s not everything about me, I’m also a librarian, a wife, cat-mom, hiker, yogi, painter, and more. If you’re interested in my thoughts on any of that, I also blog at Not Quite Petite.

This is the home of my writing, and my future books. I’m currently working on my first real novel (as opposed to the novel-length fanfiction I wrote in high school), the working title is The Traitor’s Heir, but I’ll probably change that. I’ve changed almost everything about it, except for the basic premise:

I’m writing an Adult Fantasy novel about the relationship between truth and lies.

I’m working on the third rewrite of book one, and have an outline for the second drafts of books two and three, and a loose outline for book four. It’s a quartet, with a basic/vague idea for a sequel/fifth book (set twenty years later with different characters). I started writing what became the first drafts for books two and three for NaNoWriMo 2010. I won that year, and I’ve been working on editing, tearing apart, putting back together, and rewriting the series, the world and the characters ever since. I don’t have a lot of time to work on it, but it’s always there for me when I am able to make the time.
